Laura received her under-graduate degree in Radio-TV-Film, with a minor in French, at the University of Southern Mississippi in 1988, after attending Southeastern Louisiana University, where she pledged Alpha Omicron Pi sorority and enjoyed being the sweetheart for Kappa Delta Tau fraternity for two years.

Laura is a past president of the Slidell Bar Association, a member of the Slidell, Covington, Louisiana, and American Bar Associations, and serves on the Kids Chance Scholarship Committee and the North Shore Community Partnership Panel for the Louisiana Bar Foundation. Laura is the past chairman of the Rolls-Royce Owners’ Club Legal Committee, and served as co-chairman for the 2009 RROC Annual Meet in New Orleans along with her husband, Bill Borchert, Slidell City Councilman for District “G”. She vigorously volunteered and participated in school and extra-curricular activities with the couples’ three daughters, Sophie, Kristen, and Katie, who are all in college now. Besides putting families together, and settling family estates, when she finds time away from the office, Laura can be found painting, scuba diving, or sipping coffee on the Bayou Gypsy.
